For books, journals and audiovisual material held in Offsite and Storage Collections you can make a request through Te Waharoa

How to request a book or journal using Te Waharoa

  1. Go to Te Waharoa. Search for the book or journal you would like to request.
  2. Click the “Find in Library” tab.
  3. Click “Sign-in for more options.” Sign in using your VUW ID and password.
  4. Click “Request”.
    For books or journals with multiple volumes, find the volume you would like to request then click “Request”.
    You’ll be presented with an online form.
  5. Go to “Terms of Use.” Click the drop down menu then choose the loan period you require. For example 3 day loan or 4 weeks.
  6. Go to “Pickup Location.”
  7. Choose your “Not Needed After” date.
  8. Click “Request” to send the form.

How to request an article using Te Waharoa

Digitization requests can be placed for articles from journals.

  1. Go to Te Waharoa. Search for the journal title you would like to request from.
  2. Click the “Find in Library” tab.
  3. Click “Sign-in for more options.” Sign in using your VUW ID and password.
  4. Click the name of the library that holds the journal you’re interested in. For example, Kelburn Library, Offsite Storage Journals.
  5. Find the volume and issue that contains the article or pages you would like to request.
  6. Click “Digitization”.
  7. Tick the box for “Partial” digitization.
  8. In the “Part to Digitize” section enter the page numbers or article title.
  9. Choose your “Not Needed After” date.
  10. Click “Request”. The article will be emailed to you.

Requests take 1-2 working days to arrive, depending on demand.

Requests being picked up at Campus Libraries (Architecture and Design Library, Commerce Library, and the Law Library) will take an additional working day.
